Oprah & Deepak 21-Day Meditation Experience: I Didn’t Expect THIS to Happen!

Meditation

Meditation

Meditation has always been one of my biggest challenges. I could never justify just sitting in silence without thinking. I also never really understood the value of it, and just assumed I didn’t really need it.

The last couple of months something has been slowly shifting in me. I wasn’t exactly sure what was happening, but when I had a client mention she was going to be doing the Oprah & Deepak 21-Day Meditation Experience, I decided to jump onboard as well.

I’ve been on a really interesting journey the last few months and during this weeks video I ended up releasing something that has been blocking me for a really long time. I had some hesitation around if I should publicly post this as it’s extremely raw and vulnerable, but I believe part of my purpose is to share my journey as well as helping others discover theirs.

It’s really just about being human, owning who you are and learning how to stand in your power, but the only way you can do that is by releasing all the heavy layers getting in your way – and it takes work!

My Meditation Journey

It wouldn’t be fair to acknowledge meditation as the only thing that’s opened my eyes to a new way of living. I’ve also been working with some incredible mentors and coaches, who are guiding me down a deeper more Spiritual path of self-discovery. I invite you to also get to know them. Their names are Jeffrey Eisen and Violet Campbell.

Here are some of the biggest lessons I’m excited to share with you from everything I have learned so far.

Feel, Don’t Think

This one is the most challenging for me because I am in my head so much of the time. When I’m in my head so much that’s when fear, doubt and frustration takes over – and that’s never fun! I’m learning to tap back into my intuition – something I could so easily do when I was younger. I’m feeling my way through things instead of always using logic. It’s been helping a lot with making decisions and overcoming obstacles.

Be Kind to Yourself

I get frustrated really easily when things don’t seem to be working. That was also the case when it came to meditation. I felt I wasn’t doing it right because I couldn’t figure out how to turn off the thoughts. Then I learned it’s not about turning off the thoughts but instead embracing them and letting them pass through. I’m also getting better at doing this in other areas of my life as well.

Be Present

I started to get more comfortable with this concept even before I started meditating, but the meditation practice also helped. The future is what would stress me out the most – thinking about where I want to be but not getting there fast enough. As soon as I started living more in the present I began feeling more at peace. All of a sudden I just had to focus on what was right in front of me – not the 10000 other things that used to occupy my mind.

Just Have Faith

If you watched my video above you know how impactful this one is for me. If you don’t believe, it makes it really challenging to have hope that everything will work out ok. Having faith also allows you to embody all of the other things I mentioned above. When you have faith you’re able to be more present, be kind to yourself and feel your way through things more easily.
